It’s easy to spot the office narcissist. They make your story about them.

You: I went to Europe on my holidays.
Them: I went to Europe two years ago.

You: I’m going to buy a new car.
Them: I’ve been riding my bike lately. It has saved me so much fuel and I’ve lost 5kg.

They think they are making conversation – others don’t.

Other than the obvious, the problem the narcissist has is that they don’t see they have a problem. They feel they are contributing, making conversation and connecting with others when the opposite is true. For this reason it is very hard for the narcissist to influence – they just don’t connect.
